Castle Building With Rhys

We did it with Erin now its Rhys's turn to make a castle for his school project. While that was in progress I took these photos.

The Sun Is Out

The "slightly" warmer weather and longer days are here. More photo opportunities. Spending time strolling and enjoying the time to concentrate on the world around.

Jean's 65th Birthday

Jean has been fighting a bad infection this weekend so celebrations were low key.

Katherine, Erin and Rhys returned for a weekend in Newcastle for a brief snack and a birthday cake with Jean and I. A simple chocolate cake but home made, my first.

Fuji X-T1 Returns

My X-T1 had a  object on the sensor that standard cleaning would not fix. I sent it to Fuji for repair and its just arrived back. I pre-ordered it and did not have it long before it had to be sent back.

I managed to pick the worst hour of the day to walk along the sea front for a quick test. The sun had disappeared and a biting north wind had my fingers cold. Only a few hardy souls braved a walk on the sand.

Troubled Weekend

Jean has not been too good this weekend. I decided to include this photo. This follows a discussion I heard the other day regarding the use of social media where everything is alway positive and brilliant in everyone's lives.  Some days can be trying.

We are hoping things are better for her birthday on Sunday.

New Driveway

At last we have got a new driveway. No more car shuffling when Helen, Andrew and the boys are visiting.

By the garage door two slabs were hiding an enormous manhole with the main drain at the bottom. I had not idea that was there.
