Lunch After Nursery

We had a great time by the beach this lunch time. A walk, a kick about with Finlay and a picnic lunch. Followed by a wee ice cream.

Jean's Birthday

Jean's first birthday celebration with all our family living close.  Jean, Katherine, Helen and I went to Bar 22 for lunch and three had cocktails. I was the taxi driver.

My Three Favourite Women of All Time!

All the family came to our house for dinner and/or  chocolate cake. Helen got Star Baker for the two layer cake with decorations.

Jean's Birthday Present

We were at Glasgow today to buy Jean's birthday present. John Lewis had our custom for a new sewing machine.

After 40 years, her previous machine finally came to a stop with a grinding noise and wisps of blue smoke. She bought it with the cash she got after leaving ICI's pension scheme due to becoming pregnant with Katherine.

The old machine had a good end.  Fittingly it was being used by Rhys for a school project.  One generation started it and the next ended it!

No disrespect to Brother but I doubt that the new one is designed to last that long.

Ayr High Street: Before the Changes
