A Wednesday afternoon with the lad. More of his toys are finding their way to our house. A Lego road appeared today. He prefers nice regimented lines of characters, cars and aeroplanes

Walking Group: Loops around Rozelle
This weeks its the turn for a longer walk. A smaller group due to holidays and other commitments.
Not the best morning for photos. A flat light. But WARMER. A much brighter day as we left the Rozelle Coffee shop.
Called in to look at the Ayr Photographic Society exhibition. Technically very good. Majority of the work was landscapes. Some had way too much saturation for my taste.
Thinking of my "Changes" project. Took a shot of the old Belleisle Hotel which is still in a poor state.
Missed the full effect of this willow.

Jean and Frances Meet After 18 Years
Jean and Frances were at the GSA in the late 90s. They were both mature students and struct up a friendship. They have kept in touch but had not had a face to face until today.
Frances is reducing her school teaching commitments and is renting a studio in West Kilbride. Having studied photography at GSA she has moved on to sculpture.
I left Jean and Frances to have a good natter and had a coffee and wandered round the town. West Kilbride has really made an effort to get life back in their Main St. Empty shops are now rented out to artists as studios. I counted half a dozen. In the Barony Arts Centre exhibitions and talks are organised which help bring the art community together. Ayr should have a look what could be done.
As usual, a back street got my attention.

Walking Group: Eglington Park
A pleasant wee walk around Eglington Park this morning. Rain held off but for some drizzle towards the end.
Some of the regulars were on holidays but Tom was back in full action after injury. Good fruit scone in the cafe afterwards.
Photographic inspiration was the tree moss and dark wood land.

A Recent Visit to Glasgow
While at Andrews Stag I had some time to kill and took a walk. The recent demolition work had uncovered the facade of Queen St Station.
A group of us spend one or two nights in the Ibis on Miller Road. The Ibis interior designers have a sense of humour.

Andrew's Stag
Enjoyable time this weekend meeting Andrews relations and friends. Good group of folks.
I've used the word enjoyable with reservation as the karting was the toughest thing I've done in a while! Stomach churning, teeth rattling, arm numbing experience with a smidge of fear. Luckily I did not find out what would happen if I was sick in a full racing helmet.
Many thanks to Eric for teaming up with me for the Pensions United racing team. Just beaten into last place by a mere 27 laps!
The meal at the Amorane Restaurant was excellent - at a good price.
Thanks to Andrew for passing on the group photos:
