Helen and I ran together to complete our second Glasgow event. Great effort from Helen given minimum training.
We were a whisker outside our planned time.

Walking Group: River Ayr Loop
Light drizzle marred the first mile but the day opened out to be warm and humid.
The slight detour to Bhaile was successful with blockbuster scones and excellent coffee.
Lost count of the number of times I've walked sections of this route. New photo opportunities are difficult to find. The image below was from the Horizon Hotel car park prior to departure.

Walking Group: Cumbrae
Another new trip off the mainland. It's good to see a new perspective of the Largs coastline. The true size of the Hunterston power station. Hunterston B looking like a James Bond villain's high tech hide out.
The "small" ferry takes a surprising volume of vehicles.
I only the walked the calmer side of the island to Millport. A lot bigger than I imagined.
As a reminder my extended photo efforts for the year and last year can be found by following the links in the side bar to the right. On my phone its reached by a drop down list.

Walking Group: Hollybush House
A pleasant morning for walking. The main walk was around the grounds of Hollybush House. We took a well maintained path from the main drive to the River Doon. It slowly become smaller and muddier. We pushed on until it hit a dead end. A good side track never the less.
Back at the cars we headed for the sea front at Ayr India. Walking to the Secret Garden for coffee and scones.
Not the longest or most demanding but a change. I felt relaxed and refreshed after my weekend in the big tourist trap of Edinburgh.

Edinburgh Trip for Geoff's Birthday
Enjoyable family get together. Especially to see Ann and Geoff's grandkids after a good while. Real ale in 'Holyrood 9A' with terrific burgers.
Jean and I spent the afternoons in the city galleries and generally taking in the views.
