"War Horse" Visit to Edinburgh
Jean and I had a couple of days in Edinburgh which included a performance of War Horse.
We stayed in the Travel Lodge just of the Royal Mile. Dinner was at a "9a Holyrood Rd". They offer a huge selection of beers and 22 varieties of burgers. On the second night we ate at the Festival Theatre before the performance. We had breakfast at the "The Larder" by the Radisson Hotel. Creamy scrambled eggs and spicy sausage. Including real leaf tea.
We played tourist:
With plenty of stops for coffee
Walking around:
War Horse was memorable. Your imagination allows the horses to be "real" and soon you do not see the 3 puppeteers making the horse twitch and move.
I was brought back to the film Gravity which I saw last month. All the computer graphics could not make it as convincing as the stage production here.

Erin's 12th Birthday
Today is Erin's 12th birthday. Phew she is growing fast - a young lady already!
She asked us for a mirror for her room.
As important school work approaches at Kyle a laptop was also on the list of wants. But I bet Facebook and the webcam may also get used!!!

New Years Day, 2014
We took the usual photos after the bells.
In rain showers a walk along the sea front by Ayr India. Rhys took his scooter. Jumped back into the car to return home to a snug house for coffee or hot chocolate with Christmas cake!!!

Helen, Andrew, Ethan and Finlay Pay a Visit
The Darlington gang arrived for a couple days visit.
We had a great time especially re-learning (badly) how to play Cluedo. The two boys spend as much time as they could get away with playing Minecraft on the XBox.
Unfortunately Jean had a mild AF attack which meant a run to A&E for 5 hours but she was back home at 4am!!!
