Visiting Helen, Andrew, Ethan and Finlay at Coniston

We spent two enjoyable days in Coniston visiting the family who were spending the week  in their caravan a mile down the Lake.

We've not been to the Lakes in a while and memories flooded back from my teenage years and Jean and I's visits. Especially our 20th wedding anniversary.

We stayed at the Crown Inn in the centre of Coniston. Comfortable enough. Enjoyed the beer. The food was substantial.

Found a wonderful coffee shop round the corner. Home made scones of a very good size!

Spent Wednesday with Ethan. Cruising the Lake, eating fudge followed by our favourite coffee shop and a quick game of noughts and crosses.

Finlay's Birthday No2 - Actual

For family members who could not make yesterday. Today was Findlay's birthday "The Actual". Today is Finlay's actual birthing day.

Jean and I are in Darlington for Finlay's birthday. Kathie, Erin and Rhys came down with us for the weekend. They will return on Monday ready for the start of the Scottish school term.

Visit to Loch Lomond - Helen+Andrew's Caravan

Had a great day at Loch Lomond visiting Helen, Andrew and the boys at their caravan on the east bank,  Milarrochy Bay.

Dull start to the day but brightened up. Everyone (apart from Jean and me) had a shot in the Polson kayaks.

Helen had a small paddle later. Looking gorgeous in her new wetsuit.

Rhys and Andrew had an extended trip a good way along the loch. Rhys came back tired but happy. Erin also enjoyed the experience.
