After the Christmas days cooped up eating, drinking and watching the wind and rain fire my neighbour's trampoline over the fence and across my garden. It's time to take advantage of the improving light down by the river.

Christmas 2016
Helen, Andrew and the boys have moved into their new home in Alloway. It's the first time we have all lived near each other. No longer having to travel for hours to visit.
Both daughters and family live within 2 miles of us.

Finlay's Photos!!!
Finlay and I had a great time on Sunday. I gave him one of my old cameras to play with and a bag to walk around the house with taking the camera in and out. He quickly learnt how to turn it on, take a photo and use the play back to view.
Finlay took these photos!

After a bumpy ride of excitement and disappointment Helen and Andrew complete the purchase of their new house in Ayr. Both are over joyed and relieved to finally cross the line.

Polty's Last Blast: Hamsterley Forest
The mountain biking route in memory of Neil Polson was formally opened this weekend at Hamsterley Forest.
We trudged up a couple of miles of forest road to the start. I thought the event was really just with immediate family and friends but it was much larger with representatives from the Forestry Commission, Hamsterley TrailBuilders and the local Council.
Speeches were given including some very nice works from Linda. She mentions that Neil and Andrew had used the Forest since they were very young. Way before the mountain biking craze.

Christmas Dinner with Workmates
A Christmas meal at the Carrick Lodge with my old workmates. Great to catchup. The night as usual seemed too short.
